In the midst of all the planning and organizing, the bride forgets the most important thing – to take care of herself.

For healthy skin, putting in a little effort goes a long way. Cleansing and toning should be done regularly without fail. This will keep your skin glowing and youthful. A clean and dirt-free face will help keep your pores open. This will enable your skin to breathe better. Follow up with toning that will help tighten the pores and reduce fine lines.
2. Moisturise, Moisturise and more Moisturise!
Planning to shed a few pounds before your wedding? It’s important to keep the skin well-nourished to avoid stretch marks during the process – look out for ingredients such as Vitamin E. If you suffer from red spots, it can be kept under control by using a moisturiser containing glycolic acid or salicylic acid on a daily basis.
3. Guard yourself from the Sun!
Make sure you wear a Sunscreen with SPF-50 or more every day; the sooner you start, the better it is. Don’t forget your ears, lips and the back of your neck.
4. Be Mani-Pedi ready!
Keep your hands and feet soft by massaging olive oil onto them every night before going to bed. This will get rid of the dry skin on your hands and feet. During the shower, make sure to exfoliate your feet with a pumice stone. You must certainly maintain clean and polished nails.

Beautiful bridal makeup starts with good skin – no foundation will look perfect without a smooth, exfoliated base. Once you’ve got your skincare regime perfected, try a matte primer to keep oil at bay.

Combing your hair before retiring to bed increases the blood circulation, preventing the hair from falling. For the face, mud masks are the perfect form of relaxation, and you can apply it once you are back from a hectic shopping spree.
8. Hair Nourishment is so important!
Brides-to-be who have a fad for home remedies, like me, can opt for homemade hair masks. One of my favorite hair masks is ‘Banana-raw milk-coconut oil’ for healthy shiny tresses. Also, nourish your hair regularly with natural oils and shampoos way before your wedding.
9. Get a Hair Spa!
The extensive rituals of the Indian wedding can make your hair look dull by the end of just the first day. Reinforce all the good you have been doing for your hair over the past months with a rejuvenating hair spa. This will hydrate and cleanse your hair, and bring its ‘glory’ back.
10. Eat everything that’s healthy!
Switch to a healthy diet and avoid processed food. Fast food and oily junk can be avoided for the next few months which can have a direct impact on both your skin and weight. Intake of liquids in any form like fruit juices, coconut water, milk shakes etc. is very beneficial for skin and hair. Try avoiding cold-drinks and hard drinks consumption on a daily basis.
